A small liquid nitrogen machine employs the basic principle of thermodynamics. It compresses nitrogen gas to a high pressure and lowers its temperature, causing it to liquefy and become available for use in various scientific, industrial, and medical applications.

The liquid nitrogen generator (liquid nitrogen machine) is composed of three parts: nitrogen generator (built-in or external), refrigeration equipment (gas liquefaction equipment) and Dewar tank.
